The Osborn Award

The Osborn Plaque.

The Arthur Herbert Osborn Annual Senior Award for Loyalty and Service to the Princeton University Band is the Princeton Band's single serious award. The award is presented at the annual Band Banquet to a senior in recognition of loyalty and service to the Band. (Hence the name.)

The recipient of the Osborn Award is selected by the Band Council. To be eligible, one must have been a Band member for all four years, and also never have served as an officer of the PUB.

The award recipient is presented with the Osborn Cup. His or her name joins those of all the previous recipients engraved on the Osborn Plaque, also shown here (not actual size; some contents may have settled during shipping). Both the cup and the plaque are on permanent display in the Band Office.

The present Osborn Cup and Osborn Plaque are the gift of the PUB Class of 1988. The original Osborn Cup is also on display in the Band Office; engraved on it are the names of the first three decades' winners.
